My name is Peter
Trabucco and I am a high functioning wheelchair-bound quadriplegic.
This summer I am planning to drive my 2007 Toyota
FJ Cruiser from Mexico to Canada on a route that
is about 90% dirt roads - something no other disabled person
has attempted. My Fj is already equipped quite well
- ARB bumper, Warn winch, Old
Man Emu suspension, Hella driving
and fog lights, BF Goodrich 285/75/17
tires. One of the items
that I don't have is a Personal
Locator Beacon. I will be in very remote wilderness
areas for much of the trip and a PLB will
be essential to ensuring my safety

Hi everyone at PLB Rentals. We used your
PLBs on all six of our crew members on three different
boats for Team Marleys in the "Tybee 500". The wives
and mothers were able to have peace of mind while we sailed the
500 mile race from Key Largo, FL to Tybee, GA. As you can
imagine we sailed in many different weather, wave, and wind
conditions. Sometimes a pretty good distance off shore and we
did have one boat lose its rig during the rounding of Cape Canaveral.
fortunately we did not have to use your PLBs for rescue,
but it was nice to know they were there if the the situation
would have arisen.

My
trip is complete and the PLB is in the mail. I appreciate
the service you provide to wilderness travelers (my wife
does as well). A friend and I completed a week canoeing
the French River in Ontario. Having a PLB with
us provided an increased level of security, particularly
when we encountered a potentially dangerous reptile (the
rattlesnake was released unharmed). We shared campfires
a few nights with other travelers and I took the opportunity
to explain the operation and benefits of the PLB system. No
one was aware of the availability of these devices. Hopefully
the word will spread. Thanks again. " |

Thru Hike of the Pacific Crest Trail
"My name is Ian Carbone. I
will be hiking 2,655 miles from Mexico to Canada on the Pacific
Crest Trail beginning April 25th this year. I cannot afford
my own PLB, though I would love to have one on my hike for safety considerations
and piece of mind. I'd be happy to promote your services/website
to the 500+ hikers at the PCT kick off gathering to the
hikers outdoor recreationalists I meet along my 5 month journey." |
